confetti...

Confetti is completely in trend at the moment!  We keep spotting it in various forms, and love how it evokes a bright and colourful feeling in people of all ages.  Perhaps once reserved for party celebrations only, it is now being embraced in lots of creative outlets!

la marelle enpapier...

We have loved this brand, La Marelle for a few years now, with their striking images and the gorgeous brown envelopes that accompany their cards and postcards.  One designer in particular, Nicoletta Ceccolli, always catches our eye, with her stunning imagination and attention to detail.  So pretty!

Such pretty cards to give to a loved one, but they are also inexpensive pieces of art to hang in a frame.

mt bunting...

My 3 year old announced yesterday that 1) his room was boring and 2) he needed to do a 'project'!

So once again the fabulously versatile mt masking tape was brought out to help resolve the issue!  He loves 'taping' at any given opportunity so he was pretty excited, and quite rightly, proud of the final result!

Here are some pics :-)

It was super fast and easy so have a go! x

follow us...

As presse-papiers celebrates it's first birthday, we also mark a year writing this blog. It's been another huge learning curve, but definitely a much liked aspect to our new world.  If only we could find more time in the day, we would love to spend more time here!

It's been lovely to join the online community of bloggers - there are so many creative and inspiring blogs out there, which we also partly blame for our lack of posts! We are too busy reading, and oohing and aahing over the pretty things that we discover!

Hopefully in our second year, we will be more disciplined and write more posts!

We would love to expand our group of regular readers, so please become one of our followers!  The easiest way is to click on the Followers button that you see on the right-hand side of this blog, and you then simply select if you would like to be a private or public follower.

All new followers during October will go into the draw of our birthday celebration prize, which is the chance to win 20% off all purchases for an entire year!  Share with your friends so we can continue the paper love journey...

The Package Project 2011...

Ooh, we've just signed up to The Package Project 2011! We almost missed out as the deadline is tomorrow, October 15th, but luckily discovered it in the nick of time (thanks to our friends over at Frankie Magazine)!

The project aims to connect creative like-minded people all over the world through an organised process of swapping packages and handmade delights! As you know, we are obsessed with pretty parcels, and so the notion of exchanging a parcel with a creative stranger out there is very exciting!  We're already thinking of the goodies that we will be giving back to our 'package partner' :-)

Anyone with an active blog can take part in the project so check out the details here.

Will keep you updated with what happens next :-) x

it's our birthday month - yippee!

Well, it was almost a year ago that we launched presse-papiers at the Auckland Parent & Child Show! We were pretty green about this whole business thing to be honest :-) How hard can it be to sell beautiful paper and stationery right? Hmmm, yes, well.

Little did we, and the rest of NZ know, that over the next twelve months, our lovely country was going to be thrown some major challenges.  There was the tragedy at Pike River, the struggling economy and NZ dollar, and such devastation in poor Christchurch as it was rocked by major earthquakes and ongoing aftershocks that left much of the city, and certainly some people's lives, unrecognisable.

Despite it all however, the strength and resilience of this country is unwavering.  We forge ahead, trying to find positivity and comfort in the community, and we still like to see and hear about new things.  New shops, new trends, new people.

And we feel blessed to have met a lot of wonderful people over the past year.  Customers who love pretty paper.  Lovely bloggers who write about all things beautiful.  Talented designers who create wonderful products that people just want in their lives.  A lot of NZ creativity as well as plenty of overseas products being seen in this country for the first time.

It's been a rollercoaster of a ride, and we've learnt so much about our newest baby, presse-papiers.  With tears and pride, we say happy first birthday!  Here's to many more happy birthdays, with lots of new milestones and pretty paper in the years ahead :-)

And of course, a birthday wouldn't be complete without a present, right?  So we are giving you the chance to win a loyalty membership that entitles you to 20% off any orders for an entire year!

Enter the draw in 3 easy ways:
