spring and other things...

We are loving the arrival of Spring, especially all the magnolia and blossom trees that are in bloom at the moment. The daylight is stretching itself out for a little longer each day too, so it won't be long before we can have our dinner outside or let the little ones run off a bit more energy before bed.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.  The opening of the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand was fabulous to watch on Friday night - wonderful images of our cultural heritage, an exciting fireworks display, and a win for the All Blacks :-)

And p.s check out this new washi tape design in store - a new slim, two tone style that we are loving!

time and healing

One week on.  People all over New Zealand stood still today and observed two minutes silence in tribute to those who lost their lives, are missing or were injured in the February 22nd earthquake.  It reminded us how powerful silence can be during times when words really don't say enough.

Our nation is united in grief, and Kiwis living all over the world sent their love and support today.  Let's continue this in the months ahead in any way we are able.

It might not feel it right now, but somehow in time the people of Christchurch will rebuild their city and their lives following this tragedy.  Somehow, time can heal...

Thanks to Sweet William for giving us permission to share this beautiful print.

A short blog tonight as we all grapple with the ongoing shock and devastation continuing to emerge from the Christchurch earthquake.  Like most New Zealanders, we know this city and love it. We have family and many close friends there. Our heart aches for all those who have lost loved ones, and those who are still waiting to hear from missing loved ones.

There have been several appeals launched to help those in Christchurch, so if you would like to donate please look at the following link for the range of options http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/donate-christchurch-quake-appeals-4038581

We are praying and hoping...

A sad week for New Zealand...

Our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues of the 29 men who lost their lives this week at the Pike River mine.  It is difficult to comprehend that a normal day's work ended in such tragedy. There is no doubt that the impact of such a massive loss will be felt for months and years to come for all loved ones, the local community and NZ as a whole.

Kia kaha xx
