happy buying at Finders Keepers...

One half of presse-papiers (Olivia) was lucky enough to visit the fabulous Finders Keepers over the weekend! Set in the beautiful venue of CarriageWorks near Newtown, it was filled to capacity with amazing designers and artists.  Outside was overflowing with people buying fresh coffee, food and flowers from the fantastic Eveleigh Grower's Market, and overall the atmosphere had a great buzz and vibe to it.

Of course the art and stationery designers had us happily captivated for a couple hours - Printspace, Bespoke Letterpress Design, Paper Boat Press, Love Mae, Frankie, Write to Me and La la land...

One stall that stole most of my pennies was that of TMOD - a fabulous business created by two designers, Georgie Swift and Milenka Osen.  Their interactive stationery range caught our eye earlier in the year at Life Instyle, and we have been spotting it ever since in lots of cool paper stores.  Dot-to-dot wrapping paper, scratchie cards and fortune tickets - need I say more!

Our wonderful distributor of MT masking tape, Telegram Paper Goods, is also the distributor of TMOD across Australia and New Zealand, so we will be definitely adding this to our product wish-list!  Do you like what you see?

We also spotted the Paper Convention Collective whose highly anticipated A4 Paper Festival begins in only a few days... Looks like another trip to the city without the kids! xx

where has Rob Ryan been all our lives...

While the rest of the world has long been celebrating the amazing talent of Rob Ryan and his London team, we have sadly been in the dark! Luckily, we spotted his 'Four Seasons' set of 4 plates in a number of recent home and design magazines, and instantly fell in love!

Rob Ryan is a world famous artist who specialises in papercutting and screen printing.  Whimsical and romantic, his designs are quite breath-taking...here are a few of our favourites.

tweeting on twitter...

We have jumped on the Twitter bandwagon here at presse papiers :-) Okay okay, we haven't exactly jumped...maybe more like tiptoed into the Twitter house and we're still standing at the door with our coats on!

We happily admit that we have avoided this form of social networking up until now.  It wasn't personal, but we were busy getting to know this blog and our facebook page, and to be honest, we were a little bit intimidated by something so popular and on trend!

However, now that our monthly newsletter has a Twitter link, we thought we better check out where the links were going!  And so far, it has been quite exciting!  And amazing the number of people and businesses that we know happily contributing to the Twitter conversation.

So if you are a twitterer, come and say hello here.  We will be tentatively making a few more tweets as we find our way around, but also, sharing interesting tweets we read along the way!

introducing...Paper Runway magazine!

We are in paper heaven :-) With much excitement, we woke up this morning to the brand new quarterly magazine that is Paper Runaway.  After months of anticipation, the first issue has blown us away.  Filled to the brim with paper goodness, it brings us unique and pretty paper products, talented designers of paper couture, creative ideas and DIY projects, and much much more.

Paper Runaway Issue 1

Not only do we love this magazine for its gorgeous content, but also because it captures and brings to life our core love and passion here at presse-papiers of all things paper.  The magazine brings together an entire community of paper lovers, and that is super exciting!  We can't wait to see this community expand over upcoming months, and we will be sharing news and ideas on this blog so stay tuned
