Paper Runway - Issue 2

Have you ordered your copy of Paper Runway Issue Two yet?  After the huge success of Issue One, one could imagine there was a bit of pressure around backing this up with the next issue.  But we need not have worried - Maree & Nikki, the clever duo behind Paper Runway have done it again.  A beautiful cover, great interviews with the likes of Kristina Karlsson, and page after page of beautiful paper in all it's guises.

A little reminder why Paper Runway is a must in your collection:

- it is independently published and designed, which feels lovely to support in this age of big business
- it is printed on environmentally friendly and 100% recycled paper, meaning it is kind to our trees and the world
- it brings you unique and creative paper products from all over the world, which in turns supports other small businesses and creative folk doing what they know best
- it brings together a community of people who love paper - this is exciting to share and be a part of
- each Issue has lots of giveaways for lucky subscribers - make sure you keep up with giveaway details on the Paper Runway blog
- it looks very pretty on your coffee table :-)

presse-papiers is the first NZ stockist of Paper Runway, and you can order your copies here xx

Our own tea parties...

In honour of the annual Ava's Tea Party, we held our own tea parties this week.  And so two little boys in Sydney, and two little girls in Auckland, spent a lovely afternoon of eating, drinking, chatting while their Mums sipped tea out of real china cups and enjoyed the moment.

We've spoken before about life always being in the fast lane, and despite our best efforts, how easy it is to forget to stop, look around and count your blessings.  Yesterday, we counted our blessings.  Thanks Ava and your courageous family for the reminder xx

Ava's Tea Party...

If there was ever a reason to slow down, appreciate your life and embrace your loved ones, this story is it...We had heard about Ava's Tea Party before but somehow had never actually read the story until now. A heart breaking story about a little girl called Ava who left this world far too early, and a brave family who have dedicated their lives since to sharing her story and encouraging families to stop and share a moment with their loved ones.  And pay tribute to a little girl who never had the chance for her first tea party.

In 2009, Ava's family celebrated her birthday with that precious tea party, and invited the blogging community to do the same.  And so the Annual Ava's Tea party was born.  Every August, tea parties of all shapes and sizes take place to honour Ava's memory and to encourage the simple yet often neglected idea of taking the time.

This year, we will be having a simple tea party with our little ones to do just this - cherish the moment, take the time, and just breathe them in.  Please join us, and all the tea parties taking place on or around the 22nd August...for Ava and her family xx

a letterpress studio called Tumbleweed Press...

The art of letterpress design has always captured our attention, with its delicate blend of ink, pressure and paper, and the historic nature of this creative process (it dates back to the fifteenth century!).  Hence, we were super excited to find a local boutique letterpress studio in Christchurch, called Tumbleweed Press!

Established in 2003, Tumbleweed Press creates individualised modern wedding stationery as well as a lovely collection of printed stationery, including birthday invitations, thank you notes and gift tags.

All of the stationery is printed by hand on an antique letterpress, and the end result is just divine!

Come and have a look here xx
